Spit Shine and Favors

Two evenings ago, I had the privilege of bringing shine to shoes that were in need of some loving. I was a little concerned that I wouldn’t be able to bring the shine out, considering that I polished my last shoe 5 years ago when I was in the Civil Air Patrol. To my surprise, instinct kicked in. Within an hour, those shoes were lookin’ pretty spiffy.

Now some of you may find this odd…but I actually enjoy a good shoe shining session on occasion. This particular event brought me joy because I was doing a favor for a friend that would make her look good. I love doing things that make others look good. This was the main goal when I was producing services at my last job. I am good at making others look good.

What are you doing to uplift someone else today?
